Last Days Of A Gambler Or Just The Beginning?

12/18/2011 6:40:00 PM by kisado
I'm starting at 0 except for the money in my wallet (4 bills after I visit the ATM), and a $20 Freeplay on 5Dimes. This is it, folks! If I go bust, it's time to seriously re-evaluate the gameplan. Go back to the proverbial drawing board as I lick my wounds. I know the errors in my strategy. Poor bankroll management which seems to have insidiously crept in causing my once healthy bankroll to suffer a beating not seen since the infamous Rodney King incident. Also, I have started to bet on too many games, a result of two of...

Dealing Different Lines Over the Phone? 5Dimes

12/17/2011 10:20:04 AM by kisado
I called up 5Dimes yesterday at about 6:20pm PST to place a phone wager on college hoops. I wanted UCSB +7.5 against Washington U. BTW, I'm a UCSB alum so it was a bit of a homer bet, admittedly. However, I also thought Washington was a bit overrated here in what essentially a 50/50 game. UC Santa Barbara was up at the half so I really liked my position at that point. Anyway, my concern is this. I was following this line somewhat yesterday, and it seemed it was at 7.5/8 for the most part. When I called 5Dimes to...

5Dimes Timer/Log-Off

10/27/2010 3:44:12 AM by kisado
This problem only recently started a couple weeks ago where I get timed out and have to re-enter my password after only a few minutes browsing the lines. I have reported this to 5Dimes numerous times since then and I keep getting nowhere. They tell me a bunch of bullshit and different stories. I've been told they will forward this matter to their tech department multiple times only to find out that no such action was taken. I've been told that a note was put on my account detailing the issue I was having, but when I called back a...

Disclaimer: Follow me for one day, you might get OR you might come . It's all inconsequential, really. The goal is to make money long-term not short-term. Points are appreciated. Last time I made a straight  post with my picks http://forum.sbrforum.com/tennis-handicapping/454987-huge-day-me-tennis.html and got exactly 0 points! Maybe because that post wasn't as pretty as this one?

Elena Dementieva
- 190 over Ana Ivanovic

-Ana beat an out-of-sorts Azarenka in the previous round costing me a bet. Vika looked weird. Her hair was all frazzled, she looked either sick or tired or both, and her game was way off. She was leading early, up a break but quickly botched that lead bringing the score to 4-4. At this time, she felt the need to call a medical T.O. She regrouped and promptly lost the set 4-6. It looked like she was going to retire throughout, but instead she continued on. She led again in the second set, 4-3 on her serve but lost, 4-6. Notice how I tell this story from the point of view of the Belarusian. It was she who LOST, not Ana who WON. Ana's been playing better as of late, but still a far cry from her French Open heroics. Dementieva is just way too consistent and solid for her. The Russian will want to gain speed for the French and Ana is not quite the roadblock she once was. 4-0 h2h advantage for the Russian helps. And check out this GOLDEN stat - Ana is 1-8 lifetime against Top 10 Players. Guess who the 1 was? Azarenka! In the previous round! As I've belabored the point, Ana did not truly ''win'' that match. I am not making excuses, just telling it how it is. Vika would have smashed her if on song. I think this is a decent bet and I love to fade Ana so I'll pay the juice.

Jelena Jankovic -175
over Yanina Wickmayer

-At first, I thought the plus money on the Belgian looked enticing, but upon closer inspection the Serb appears to be the right side. Wickmayer is not playing her best tennis. I think that is a safe assumption. She took 3 sets to defeat Sprem and Rezai, who are well below the class of player that Jankovic is. Jankovic, one could say, is playing at or near her best, not too far removed from her Masters Series victory at Indian Wells. Yes, I know it wasn't on clay, BUT it is still tennis. Furthermore, Jelena has hoisted the trophy here twice, back to back in 07 and 08 and possesses an impressive 19-5 career record in Rome.

Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez +190 over Caroline Wozniacki

-Caroline is one of my favorite players. I love her tenacity, heart, spirit and her hatchet of a backhand. Oh, and her looks aren't half bad. Having said that, her opponent today, Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez possesses the proverbial Kryptonite to the Dane's super powers. The Spaniard's serve-volley tactics, drop shots, and general unorthodox, wily play has garnered her a 2-0 career h2h over Caroline. On the Spanish woman's favorite surface, with the h2h advantage, and the + money, I will have to place a bet on Maria.

Dominika Cibulkova -120 over Maria Kirilenko

Kirilenko is generally overrated (not her looks though. In fact, I think quite the contrary is true. Her understated beauty might even be said to be underrated IMHO. We always hear about Ivanovic, Sharapova, and now Wozniacki getting some of that golden girl treatment, but the Russian's beauty is, at times, overlooked. Her tennis probably has something to do with it...I need to get out of these parentheses) and especially so after her first round slaying of Svetlana Kuznetsova. Dominika is the better clay court player having reached a semi at the French. Career record on clay surface bears this point out as well. She is 60-25 70.59 % since 2000 on the red stuff, while Kirilenko is 48-32 60.00%. I think the odds are fair.
